5 kids electrocuted in Laguna

MANILA, Philippines – Five children died after one of them touched a live electrical wire in Laguna yesterday afternoon, police said. Senior Superintendent Manolito Labrador, Laguna provincial police director, identified the victims as John Carlo Sedan, 7; Angel Joy Lavares, 4; Samuel Latigo, 4; John Alvin Alberto, 7; and John Lorence Alberto, 6. Initial police investigation showed that the victims were playing in a rice field near a creek in Brgy. Bulilan Sur, Pila, Laguna, around 5 p.m. when one of them accidentally touched a live electrical wire. The other four children tried to help but were also electrocuted, police said. The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital but doctors could no longer revive them.
